

Bruce Peter Ting, Sr., born September 8, 1951, and passed away on January 15, 2026, with his family by his side. He was a native of Harvey and Barataria, and resident of Terrytown for over 37 years. Loving husband of Connie Roberts Ting. Son of the late Carrie and Anthony J. Ting, Sr. and Son In Law of the late Margaret and Raymond Cooney. Preceded in death by his sister, Ernestine Criss, brother, Anthony “Tony” Ting, Jr., his sister-in-law, Bridget Mura Figenshu, and brother-in-law, John Figenshu. Bruce was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Chad Allemand, Reese Sharp, Lucy and Michael Christopher King.
He was the loving father of Alicia Blanchard, Bruce P. Ting, Jr. (Darlene), Brandi Griffin, Mandi Griffin, Lisa Sharp (Scott), Angela Thiaville (Rickey), Doug King Jr. (Lauren). Bruce was the grandfather of Amanda and Joie Blanchard, Bryce Ting, Abbi Griffin (Chase), Alli Tully, Laila Griffin, Brhett Tu, Austin and Avery Sharp, Aidan and Aubrey Thiaville, Lilly, Joseph, and Jacob King, and Jake Guilliot. Bruce was the great grandfather of Hudson and Lincoln Sharp, and Avery Linden. He also was the Godfather of Ricky Jannuiza.
Brother of Louis Ting (Geraldine), Ronald Ting (Elizabeth), and Deborah Strausbaugh (“Ed”) and adopted brother Charles “Loggy” Guilliot. Brother-in-law of Nancy Ting, Gary Mura, Gail DePhillips (Clyde), Raynel Zimmer (David), Maureen Cortez (Chadd), Mark Cooney (Fay), Eric Roberts (Jessica), Lisa Roberts, and Dana Cooney.
Bruce was a graduate of West Jefferson High School Class of 1969. He worked in finance and insurance. He retired from American General Insurance as a General Manager, where he led his team to achieve record sales and was recognized for his commitment to mentoring new employees. He enjoyed spending time at their duck camp. One of his favorite moments was seeing his son take his first duck at sunrise, a memory they cherished together, he later became an avid deer hunter and was mastering bow hunting. Golf was his favorite sport. Bruce was full of life and enjoyed partying, sometimes by himself, as long as there was Rum and Coke and Barry White. Bruce was known for his generosity and sense of humor, always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. He cherished family gatherings and enjoyed sharing stories from his childhood in Harvey. He could fix anything with a “Harvey Trick”.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and served as a surrogate parent and grandparent to many. He showed unwavering loyalty to family and friends The family would like to acknowledge and thank Passages Hospice for their compassionate care, his caretaker Pam Campiso for her devoted support, and his brother Louis Ting for his comforting presence.
