Born on March 20, 1951, in Gretna, Byron was the beloved husband of Ellen Ann Hotard Savoie. He was a devoted father to Lennox "Lenny" Savoie (Kelley), Kimberly Kraemer (Shane), and Damond Savoie. He was a big brother to Debbie Minton (Steve), and a cherished Pawpaw to Taylor Shano (Blake), Damond Savoie Jr., and Brice Savoie. He was also a loving Grand Pawpaw to Grady Shano.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dalice Ronquille Savoie, who's loving care helped shape his life, along with his parents, Ola Emogene Craig and Luke Savoie Jr., and his little sister, Cynthia Vinet.
He will be remembered for his deep love for his family and his lifelong expertise as a captain on the water. Byron was a simple man, kind-hearted, easygoing, and content with the little things in life.
In accordance with his wishes, no public services will be held. The family will gather privately to celebrate his life and legacy. They appreciate your thoughts and support during this time.
