Mr. Dale Anthony Belsome, Sr, 78 of Lafitte, LA, passed away Saturday morning in Hattiesburg, MS. Dale was born October 17, 1939 in New Orleans, LA, one of two children to Taft and Adelina Belsome. He grew up in, and was a life-long resident of, Lafitte, graduating from West Jefferson High School as a member of the Class of 1957. Dale enjoyed the outdoors and being on the water, making his career as a commercial fisherman. He also had an affinity for horses particularly his horse Britches, and could often be found at the track hanging out with his friends. He will be remembered as a hardworking man and a loving and dedicated father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending the past several months in Poplarville, MS with his son. He will be sadly missed by all whose life he touched. He is survived by his three children, Dena (Kirby) Nunez of Lafitte, Allyson (Francis) Loughran of Naperville, IL, and Dale (Samantha) Belsome, Jr. of Lumberton, MS; 8 grandchildren, Chastity, Laci, Kirby, Zachary, Olivia, Jenna, Jordan, and Hayden; and 4 great grandchildren, Dallas, Peyton, Casyn, and Kenzie; one nephew, Durel Boudlauch; and his former wife, Carolyn LeBlanc. Dale was preceded by his parents, Taft and Adelina Belsome; his only sister, Gwen Boudlauch; and one nephew, Lance Boudlauch.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will begin at church at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Pius X Mausoleum in Crown Point. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
