August 13, 1961 - June 28, 2025
David Kenneth Bairnsfather, a lifelong resident of Gretna, was called home to be with God on June 28, 2025, at the age of 63. He was born on August 13, 1961, to Elizabeth Weston Orgeron and Wilbert Bairnsfather. David was lovingly raised by Elizabeth and his stepfather, Ronald Patrick Orgeron, Sr., with whom he shared a special and meaningful bond.
He was the beloved husband of Lorna Arabie Bairnsfather, his loving companion of 38 years and devoted wife of 33 years. They shared a life full of love, laughter, and loyalty no matter what life brought their way. David was the devoted father of Keely Bairnsfather, Korey Dufrene, Jr., and the late Jamie Bairnsfather. Loving grandfather of Alyssa Bairnsfather, Gabriella Dufrene, and Kai Bairnsfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he lived for the joy they brought him. He was the beloved brother of Charley Bairnsfather, Victor Bairnsfather, and Ronald (Patrick) Orgeron, Jr.. David shared a special bond with his Uncle Victor Weston, who, along with many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members, will miss his calming presence and generous heart.
David was preceded in death by his cherished grandmother, Marion Lessley (“Meme”), and his godmother, Ruthie Dulcich.
Throughout his career, David worked with dedication and pride. He served as a District Manager for both Pepsi and Lance, Inc., and also worked for his father’s company, Baron Construction. His strong work ethic earned the admiration of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
David was a very kind and gentle man. He was endlessly supportive, carried a quiet strength, and remained deeply devoted to his family. He was a true Saints fan who loved game days, especially being in the Dome cheering on his team. He enjoyed spending time on the golf course and never missed a chance to celebrate any occasion with friends and family. His love and presence will be remembered always.
To know David was to know gentleness, goodness, and grace. He was deeply spiritual and carried himself with a faith that anchored him through all seasons of life. Above all, he was a family man rooted in service, and loyal beyond measure.
A private celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, July 20th, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. For more information, please contact Pat Orgeron at 504-382-3615. A private burial ceremony will follow on Monday, July 21st, at Westlawn Cemetery located at 1225 Whitney Ave Gretna, Louisiana 70056.
