Donald "DJ" John Picou III

Donald John Picou III “DJ”, Cherished Son, Brother, and Grandson entered into eternal rest Monday May 8, 2023, age 20. Loving son of Donald Picou Jr “Donnie”, & April Brock Picou. Loyal brother to Coryn (Jordan) & Brock Picou, Grandson to Alan & Paige Brock, and the late Donald Picou Sr. Great Grandson to the late Audrey May Brock and Paulette Goddard. Great Nephew to Janet Wild. Nephew and Godchild to Lindy Picou- Sykes (Tio Freddy). Close cousin to Elise (Derrick), Jan, Rodney, PJ, and Cole.

DJ was a lifelong resident of Marrero and a 2021 graduate of New Orleans Military Academy. His passions included fishing, motocross, target practice, and any activity that made him feel alive, as his friends could attest. Socially he was an emerging giant ready to set the world on fire with youthful confidence and a fearless wit that could have brightened any room. Though his eagerness to lend a helping hand was DJ’s signature trait, he could seamlessly make a likable impression on anybody young or old. He enjoyed the embrace of his family, never missing a family event, or a chance to celebrate. Nonetheless what he is most known for is how many of his family and friends lives he touched during the short beginning of his life's journey. DJ was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, May 14, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans.
