Elmarede Marie Gomez

Elmarede was the loving wife of the late Stanley Gomez for 54 devoted years. Loving mother of Tammy Gifford (the late Skip), the late Cary Gomez, Danny Gomez and step-daughter Dawn Lauland (the late Byron). Proud grandma, or "Gma", of Rochelle Guidry, the late Chance Gomez, the late Ryan Lewis, the late Cody Gomez, David Lewis (Jenna), and Mamarelle to Danielle Urrata (Buddy). Great-grandmother of Kaylee and Kamryn Guidry, Elmarell, Rylan, and Dash Lewis, Aubree and Tate Barrere, Jude, Dani, and Elle Urrata. Sister of Lyman Cormier, the late Clomer Mayeaux, the late Doris Morningstar, the late Rodney Cormier, and the late LJ Cormier. Elmarede will be sadly missed by Boots and Belle, her fur-babies. She is also survived by many family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Elmarede helped run the family bar, Gomez's Bar, for many generations. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family at the camp. Her cooking was a highlight of any celebration- anything that she made was unforgettable.

A Visitation for Elmarede will be held at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 9:30 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. Elmarede will be laid to rest following the service at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help memorialize Ms. Elmarede.
