Ernest Joseph Russell Sr

Ernest Joseph Russell, Sr. entered peacefully into heaven on Friday, May 27, 2016. He was the devoted husband of the late Anna Lee Hunter Russell of 56 years. A loving father of Ernest Joseph Russell, Jr. (Valerie), Wade Paul Russell (Sherry Lynn) and preceded in death Denise Russell-Scott and Bryan Russell. A proud grandfather of Daniel (Whitney), Bryan, Wade, Jr. Mindy, Lance(Ashley), Tressa, Dana, Tanya, Michelle and a great grandfather of 11 great grandchildren.

Son of the late Alma Hebert Russell and Henry Russell. Brother of Clara Russell LeBlanc, Lionel Russell, Alvin Russell, Gene Russell, Wayne Russell and preceded in death by Carol Russell Fortmyer, Carmel Russell Breaux and Henry Russell, Jr. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ernest retired from the Pipe Fitters Union Local #60, where he served for many years as a foreman. Upon his retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing, his Sunday Football games and spending time with family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 4:00 pm. Visitation from 1:00 pm until Funeral time. Interment will follow at a later date.
