

Geraldine Katherine P. Ancar, also known as “GiGi” departed life peacefully at the age of 87 on Saturday, August 30, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on December 25, 1937, in Grand Bayou Village. She was preceded in death by her parents; Marie Raenette and Edward “Cachoo” Phillips. Brothers Harold and Norris (Myrtle). Sisters Caroline, Barbara and Emelda (Maurice, deceased). She has one surviving Sister, Frances (Vincent, deceased). She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Reverend Bennie J. Ancar. She is the precious mother to Donielle (Dave), Angelique (Jason) and Katie (Craig).
Geraldine “Know as Mom” is Grandmother to 4 wonderful grandchildren who she adored, Reuben, Dakota, Cameron (Isabel) and Mariah (Ryan), and her godchild, Natasha Bourgeois.
She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and a great woman of God. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering. She loved watching game shows and crossword puzzles. She was an accomplished musician and played several musical instruments. She gave her life to Christ at a young age and later graduated from Bible College in San Antonio, TX. She served in the ministry of Christ alongside her husband in the States and on the foreign mission fields.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Grand Bayou Light Tabernacle Church at 397 Grand Bayou Way, Port Sulphur, LA located in Grand Bayou Indian Village on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM until service time at Church. Interment will follow at Grand Bayou Cemetery. The Ancar family would like to invite all family and guest to attend the Repass after services at Grand Bayou Tribal Center. Grand Bayou Village, LA.
