Hubert "Hubie" Adam Barrios

Hubert "Hubie" Adam Barrios of Marrero, Louisiana passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the age of 84. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Octave and Nora Barrios. He was married to the late Wanda Hazelwood Barrios for 59 loving years. Devoted father of Troy A. Barrios (Amy), Karen A. Nelson (Jason), and the late Paul S. Barrios. Loving grandfather of Heather, Gavin, Collin, Kaylin, and Luke. Great grandfather of Trey. Brother of Bobby Barrios, the late O.J. Barrios and the late Eugene Barrios. Hubie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Hubie was the proud owner of Barrios' Barber Shop on 4th Street in Marrero, where he cut hair for over 60 years. He was a coach for PARD Playground and night supervisor Belle Terre Playground for many years. Hubie was also a member of the American Legion Post 222 and AMVETS Post 38. He was always involved with his community, but also enjoyed fishing and being with his close friends and family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Compassus for their amazing care, especially Gayle Polite and Angel Hill, and his sitter Lynn Breaux.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 22, 2023 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 9:00AM an continue until the Mass time. Hubie will be laid to rest with his late wife following the Funeral Mass at Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, Louisiana.
