Jake Joseph Trupiano

Jake J. Trupiano, a native of Marrero, LA died on Friday, August 31, 2012 , age 82. Beloved husband of Jane Preston Trupiano by first marriage and by second marriage to Clara Orgeron Trupiano. Father of Jane Trupiano Guimbellot, Philip J. Trupiano (Robin), Rose M. Trupiano Sherwood (Matthew). Step father of John D. Engvall (Valerie) and Donna Engvall. Son of the late Philip Trupiano and Catherine Lucito Trupiano. Brother of the late Dominick Trupiano and the late George P. Trupiano. Grandfather of Michael S. Guimbellot (Susie), Christopher B. Guimbellot, Philip A. Trupiano, Matthew P. Trupiano (Kacee), Melanie Trupiano Douthit, Gary S. Sons, Brian K. Sherwood, and Cory D. Sherwood. Step grandfather of Erica Engvall, Jennifer Engvall Maltzahn (Jeremy), Clint Engvall, and Caroline Engvall. Also survived by 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jake honorably served his country in the US Army for 20 years, retiring July 31, 1968. Following his military career, he joined the Jefferson Parish Registrar of Voters as Chief Deputy Registrar for 33 years. Retired December 31, 2004. He served for many years as a deacon at St. Joachim Catholic Church. Jake was truly an inspiration to all. His entire life was dedicated to serving people. He loved people and only wanted the best for everyone.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Hook and Ladder Cemetery. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
