James Dwight Sears of Gretna, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born in San Diego, California to the late Alfred and Catherine Sears. Husband of JoAnn Sears. Devoted father of Anthony Sears, the late Jason Sears, Melissa Downey, Nikole Barton (Wayne), and Mary Sears. Loving grandfather of Christopher Downey, Howard Downey McDowell, Jerry Barton, Joseph Alonso, David Gonzales, and Julie Gonzales. Brother of Caroline Lewis. James is also survived by other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.
A Memorial service will be held at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Saturday, August 31st, 2024 from 12:00PM until 4:00PM. A gathering and Words of Remembrance will be shared at 1:30PM. Family and friends are all invited to attend and celebrate James' life.
