James Joseph "Jim" Thomas, Sr. passed away on January 7, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born in Camden, Texas to the late James Orin Thomas and Doris Pullen Rogers. Devoted husband of 51 years to Lois Falgout Thomas. Loving father of Maria Irene Thomas (Veronica) and James Joseph "Joey" Thomas, Jr. (Lanette). Proud grandfather of Austin Tyler Dufrene, Gavin James Thomas, Trace Michael Thomas and Braelin Reese Thomas. Brother of John Wayne Thomas, Virginia Leah Thomas Lejeuine (the late Michael), Richard Orin Thomas and the late George David "Rocky" Thomas. Jim is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Jim proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He loved fishing, reading, and watching old Western movies, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Ochsner Medical Center–Westbank and Compassus Hospice for the compassionate care given to our loved one.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
