Leona Cantrelle Giesemann Schoenberger

Leona Cantrelle Giesemann Schoenberger passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Melvin John Giesemann and Simon Ray Schoenberger. Mother of Susan Kohler (Edward) and William Giesemann (Karen). Grandmother of Edward Kohler, Jr. (Megan), Jason Kohler (Alexis), and Trent Giesemann. Step Grandmother of Cory Creppel. Great Grandmother of of Ruby Kohler and Baby Kohler on the way. Step Great Grandmother of Cory Creppel, Jr., Alec and Anabelle. Daughter of the late Armogene and Beulah Lombas Cantrelle. Sister of Dolores Baer, Edward, Roy, and Wilfred Cantrelle, and the late Tony, Ernest, Eugene, and Dalton Cantrelle, Clara Belle Despaux, Doris Rojas, and Carolyn Savoie. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the staff of Riverbend Nursing Center and Harmony Hospice for their compassionate care for Leona.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:30AM until the Mass time. Interment will follow at Westlawn Park Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana.
