Margaret Leonard Sampey

On Wednesday July 14, 2021, Margaret Sampey, the loving mother of Regina Marcel & Julia Blair, passed away at the age of 81. Margaret was born on July 19, 1939 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She went on to get her GED , and continued her education by receiving multiple certificates in computer technology. She loved having family gatherings, crawfish boils, and getting her hair done every weekend. Some of her hobbies were doing crossword puzzles, domino’s and playing Yahtzee. She was very confident in her opinions. She was known for her gorgeous smile, kindness, and just the whole hearted spirit she brought to the room.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father Albert Turner, her mother Iva Reed, her step-father, Edward Lee McGuire, and her sister, Ruth "Pat Floyd" Turner. She is survived by her daughters Regina Marcel (Troy) and Julia Blair (the late Dennis); 6 grandkids Ashley, Jennifer , Troy, Eric, Huey, & Kasey. Also, Margaret has 11 great grandchildren: Selena, Adalynn, Emma(step-granddaughter) , Mavis,

Liam, Hunter, Braidyn, Aiden , Emric & Carsen, Adam Jr. (step grandson).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin on Friday, July 23 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and continue Saturday from 9:00 AM until the Mass.
