Harvey Jr. Marie is also survived by other relatives and many friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luigi "Louis" and Antoinette Anaclerio.
Mrs. Harvey was a retired employee of Whitney National Bank in the Safety Deposit Department. She was a former owner of a beauty salon in Old Algiers Point, and also worked as a substitute teacher for the Jefferson Parish School Board. She was a native of Old Algiers. Marie was a proud member of the Ladies Guild (AARP #3975) and SAGES at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Algiers, Louisiana. She was also active with the Algiers American Legion Post 218, Ladies Auxilary New Orleans Power Squadron, and Les Chapeau Rouge (Red Hats Society #32701).
Marie was a beautiful person who had such a passion and zest for life. She lived an active lifestyle until she no longer could. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and playing in card clubs, especially monthly pokeno with her group of devoted friends. Camping and traveling were at the top of her list of favorite things to do. She was fortunate to have visited many countries, including Medjugorje, which was one of her most memorable and most talked about trips. After retirement, she joined a camping club, which expanded her travel even further.
Marie could be described as fashionable, always dressed nice having her hair fixed and makeup applied. The younger generation loved to touch her hair, getting a kick out of how perfect it was and how it never fell out of place. Aquanet was definitely her friend! She had the most beautiful skin, beautiful hands, always having her nails painted and freshly manicured. She took pride in her appearance, and always wanted to look nice, even in her final days.
Marie loved people, and enjoyed socializing and fellowship. She was very active in her church parish, a devout catholic, attending church daily until she no longer could. She loved the Lord above everything, spending hours a day devoting her time to prayer. She also gave back to the community by helping those in need, never greedy, making donations to numerous organizations through her lifetime. After retirement, she also enjoyed volunteering her time at Mary Joseph in Algiers, utilizing her beautician skills to do hair for the residents there. She had a beautiful voice, and loved to sing to the residents, especially songs from her Italian heritage. She was often referred to as “spunky”, “having the most beautiful smile”, “generous”, and “fun-loving”.
Above all, aside from the Lord, she loved her family. She loved spending time with them creating memories, laughing, and playing games. She was a great cook, but will be mostly remembered for her creamy peanut butter fudge that everyone looked forward to during the holidays.
Marie will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
