Orice Matherne passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010, at the age of 76. He was the brother of Maurice Matherne. He was the son of the late John and Agenita Matherne, and brother of the late John Matherne. His guardians for 30 years were the late Octavia and Luther Adams, Sr., and for the past 15 years Luther and Carol Adams. Earnest McEvers was also one of his guardians.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte, on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Pius X Catholic Cemetery, Crown Pointe. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.
