Patrick H. Smith

Patrick “Pat” Henry Smith passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of Pearl Logrie Smith for 64 years and the loving father of Glenda S. Doucet (Randy), Patricia “Patty” S. Hoppe (Jimmy) and the late Linda S. Nelton (Larry) as well as the grandfather of 9 and the great-grandfather of 4. He was the son of the late Captain Arthur W. Smith, Sr. and Mary Pierce Smith and the brother of Mary S. Singletary, Richard P. Smith, the late Arthur W. Smith, Jr., Calvin B. Smith, Loretta S. Byrne, Elizabeth S. Palacios and Phyllis S. Thies. He also leaves behind a devoted friend, who was like a son, Larry R. Smith (Carole) and he was also the God-father of Rae Margaret Pardee (Sam).

He belonged to the International Union of Operation Engineers (IUOE Local # 406), after retirement he continued working at Reagan Equipment. He loved Coffee & and he ate there with his friends everyday. He was a member of William D. White Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and was honored with being a member of “The 50 Year Club”. The family would like to thank each and everyone who has ever touched our Dad’s life in the last 85 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at which time a service will be held in the Parlor. Condolences may be offered online at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
