Pearl Melancon Leco

Pearl Melancon Leco, born on August 13, 1938 in New Orleans, LA passed away December 18, 2016 at the age of 78. She is survived by children, Cynthia Rome (late Dane Sr.), Patricia L. Boudreaux (late Andrew), Alberta Leco (Leroy Dufrene), Peter Albert Leco (Lisa Billiot), and Lydia Rome (Joseph Jr.), 18 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 13 great -great grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter- in-law Virginia Hougland Leco, brother Roland Melancon (Maryann), sister Margie Benoit (Eddie Sr.), her sister-in-law, Betty Melancon, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jeffray R. Leco Jr., and her brother Charles Melancon, her parents Albert Eietne and Annie Landry Melancon. She is also preceded by her grandson, Rudy Leco and great-great grandson Wayne Dallas Hougland.

Pearl was a former school bus driver for the Jefferson Parish School System and a Hot Shot truck driver for Venture Transportation. She was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Tylertown, Ms.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Westside Leitz- Eagan Funeral Home on Thursday, December 22, 2016 beginning at 8:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 PM. Interment to follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
