Roy James Rogers

He was the beloved husband of Allyn Fabre Rogers for over 59; father of Roy James Rogers Jr. (Kim), Robin Molinario (Anthony "Tony"), JoLinda LaCross (James "Jimmy"), and Slade Rogers (Mandy); grandfather of Joshua Rogers (Angela), Roy Rogers III (Kelly), Anthony Molinario III (Kansas), Angelo Molinario, James LaCross III (Mia), Jamilyn LaCross (Tommy), Megan Trosclair (Gadge), Dustin Trosclair, Slade Rogers Jr., and Mason Rogers; Son of the late Joseph Rogers and Yolanda Scioneaux Rogers; Brother of Nathan Rogers (the late Peggy), Joseph Rogers Jr. (Shirley), Michael Rogers, and Donna Dempster (Edward "Crown"), as well as the late Rosaria Cottier and Lynn Rogers; and Godfather of Genice Rivet, Summer Guidry, and Diane Dempster. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was a lifetime resident of Lafitte/Barataria and a commercial fisherman. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and Council 7350 of the Knights of Columbus. He did enjoy a good party with family and friends. He was known as the family chaufer, particularly for the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved fishing. In his spare time, he loved hanging around watching the boats come in.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM.
