Sandra F. Mire

Born on December 28, 1962, in San Francisco, California, Sandy will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to every life she touched.

A woman of great strength and deep devotion to her family, Sandy shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Gerald Mire. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was a proud and devoted mother to Matt Mire (Lan) and Megan Fink (Josh Sr.), and her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren: Aiden Mire, Mason Mire, Josh Fink Jr., and Makenzie Fink. She especially treasured time spent baking sugar cookies with them and cheering them on at their sporting events.

Sandy was the beloved daughter of Calvin Foster and the late Minnie “Lorraine” Foster. She is survived by her siblings: Alan Foster Sr. (Karen), Sherry McDaniel (Mitchell), and Theresa Foster. She also leaves behind her mother-in-law Ernestine Jacobsen (Roy Sr.), her late father-in-law George Mire (Nettie Young), and her brother-in-law Randy Mire (Tracy). Sandy’s love extended to a wide circle of family, including numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren—all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Sandy loved to explore the world, whether through camping trips or cruises, and she embraced every adventure with enthusiasm. She also took great pride in her work with the Ochsner Legal Department, where her dedication and spirit were deeply valued.

A Memorial Service to honor Sandy’s life will be held on June 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway. Memorial visitation will begin at 8:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sandy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that was especially close to her heart.
