Angel L. Durden

Angel was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and soon to be great-great grandmother. She was a faithful member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She previously served as a Sunday School teacher and was an active leader in the WMU. Her faith and dedication to her church and family were the cornerstones of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Smith Durden; her son, Jimmy Durden; grandson, Brian Montgomery; and brothers, Frank Albertson, Billy Albertson and Bruce Albertson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Connie (Leonard) Bernard, Gwen (Bob) Lane, Carol (wife of late Jimmy Durden), Debbie (Mark) Baxley, and Pat (An-gel) Durden.

Angel is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Scott of Brewton, AL; grandchildren: Julie (Lowell) Montgomery; Travis Lane; Michelle wife of the late Brian Montogomery; Shelley Saulnier; Wes (Christy) Cumbie; Brent Cumbie; and B.J. (Amanda)Baxley.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Josh Lane; Ben (Payton) Buchanan; Haley Montgomery; Jake (Polly) Buchanan; Sydney Labanosky; Will Montgomery; Aiden Cumbie; Amelia Hensley; Atticus Baxley; Maddie Hensley; Carson Lane; a great-great grandchild on the way; and a host of other loving family members and friends, including numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907. Followed by a Celebration of Life service.
