Delores “Dee” Carlisle was born in Macon, Georgia in May 1942. She spent a few years of her childhood in St. Augustine, FL, before her family relocated back to Warner Robins, GA where she met her lifelong husband in 1963. She eloped and married Lewis H. “Lew” Carlisle in July of 1963, and spent the next 27 years supporting him in multiple Air Force assignments all over the world. Highlights included assignments in Hawaii, Alaska, Germany and Washington DC. Lew Sr. finished his career alongside Dee as a Chief Master Sergeant. She and Lew raised 2 sons, also both career US Air Force veterans, Lewis H. “Lew” Jr. and Edward “Scott” Carlisle. Her three men, Lew Sr, Lew Jr and Scott were her pride and joy whom she loved very much. Dee was a stay-at-home Mom who always doted on her sons, always supporting them in school and year-long seasons of baseball, basketball and football during their youth. Later in life Dee worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), as a store salesperson, specializing in jewelry and shoes. She enjoyed eating out; her favorite dishes being Italian, Thai and Mexican food. Finally, in the last decade of her life, her passion was watching, analyzing and supporting the Georgia Bulldogs college football program. She watched every game every Saturday from August to January. She will continue watching her beloved Bulldogs from heaven.
