Mrs. Grace Merritt Powell, 83, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. She retired from the City of Augusta after many dedicated years. Grace was a fabulous cook and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband, Ray Powell; daughter, Janet (Willis) Stanley; two grandsons, David Neal and Brad (Julie) Neal; two great-grandchildren, Will and Avery Neal; brothers and sisters, Billy (Jo) Merritt, Jean (Harold) Pike, Bobby Merritt and Alice (Rodger) Swann. She was preceded in death by her son, Sammy Smith; and sister, Faye Daniels.
Funeral Services will be held 3PM, Sunday, March 9, 2014 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Chapel.
