Hazel Herrington

Hazel loved the Lord, her family, church and friends. She was a wonderful wife of 73 years and loving mother. She will be sorely missed by them. Funeral services will be conducted graveside at 1pm at Westover Memorial Park on Saturday, January 3rd.

Hazel was the loving wife of G. Stanley Herrington for 73 years. Other members include sons G. Stanley Herrington Jr. of Augusta, GA, Stephen I Herrington of Martinez, GA and daughter, Ashely Smith (Benjamin) of Martinez; grandchildren, Stanley Herrington III of Augusta, Ben Herrington (Mona) of Martinez, GA, Ivey Jones of Social Circle, Carson Smith of Martinez and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Herrington, Avery Herrington, Ben Herrington II and Evie Jones.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.K. Ivey, three sisters, Eulalie Smiley, Beulah Poulsen, Margaret Blinten; and brother, Tommie Ivey.

Hazel was born in Augusta, GA and lived in Atlanta, GA and Hickory, NC. She was a graduate of Tubman High School, JR College of Augusta (Now Augusta State University) and attended University of GA. She was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church and member of Adults, Couples and Singles Sunday School class. Hazel was a broker owner of Herrington Realty of Martinez, GA. She was also a member of White Shrine, Eastern Star and Amaranth.
