Peter was the son of Millie and Louis Goldberg of Providence RI, where he spent his early life until moving to Boston where he and Lynn became “swim Buddies” in a scuba diving class. He and Lynn went on to raise their twin sons Todd and Keith in Augusta Georgia. Peter found his career path in teaching and spent decades in the Augusta school system, as well as teaching Sunday School. He was an avid
Wheelchair competitor in tennis and basketball and served as an inspiration for many who had physical challenges to overcome. Peter never dwelled on what he could not do, but only what he could do. To quote his cousin, “he was the best of us”.
Peter and Lynn have spent the last few years in Estero, Florida where Peter continued to teach, follow the baseball farm teams, prepare sumptuous meals for family and friends, enjoying life in the Florida sunshine.
Peter leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn Jaffe and his pride and joy, his sons Todd Goldberg (Amber) and Keith Goldberg, his sister Karen Goldberg Harris (Perry), his nieces and nephew, great nieces and many cousins and friends.
Final arrangements will be Sunday November 10th at 12 noon, graveside at Magnolia Cemetery, 702 3rd St. Augusta GA with Shiva immediately following at Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, 935 Johns Rd. Augusta GA.
