Rachel Kurtz

Rachel leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Al Kurtz; her son, Brian Kurtz (Amy); her grandchildren, Brandon Kurtz (Bethany) and Logan Kurtz (Allison Barrow); her great- granddaughter, Kensley Kurtz; her siblings, Clara Phillips, Karla Brown, Darryl Brown, and several nieces and nephews.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Odette Brown.

A Celebration of Life for Rachel will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 4 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 620 W. Martintown Rd. N. Augusta, SC with Dr. CT Townsend officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Rachel worked for NSA in Washington, D.C. as well as acting Secretary for the 32nd Signal Battalion, for Col. Andrews in Frankfurt, Germany. She later retired from the Veteran Affairs after working over 40 years as an accountant. She served as a pastor’s wife for over 20 years at Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church in Gibson, GA. She was a member of the Dream Team at Victory, where she enjoyed her time as a greeter. She loved spending time with her family and being at the beach. She was a devoted wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed deeply, but her memory will be treasured forever.
