

Augusta-Ruth Ann Goodwin Warr met her Lord and Savior on November 20, 2014. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by those who loved her. Mrs. Warr, a ninety year old third generation Augustan, was born September 16, 1924, to Howard Hughes Goodwin, Sr. and Reba Belle Keener Goodwin Holmes. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father Harvey Lee Holmes and brother, Howard Hughes Goodwin, Jr., beloved husband, Robert Randolph Warr and son, Robert Randolph Warr, Jr. She graduated from Tubman Junior High School in 1942 with a Commercial Course degree.
Mrs. Warr met the love of her life when they were teenagers and were happily married for 69 years. Immediately following Mr. Warr’s service in World Warr II they married and were mutually devoted and inseparable for the rest of their lives, holding hands and serenading each other. They loved caring for their extended family and entertaining others with stories about their many travels and adventures.
Mrs. Warr dedicated herself to her two beloved children, Robert Randolph Warr, Jr. and Deborah Warr Beauston. “Mimi” will be dearly missed by loving daughter, Deborah Warr Beauston and her three grandchildren, Kristen Beauston Fournier, Kelly Lauren Beauston and Robert Randolph Warr, III, as well as grandson-in-law, Nicholas Philip Fournier, her great granddaughter, Harper Belle Fournier, as well as many nieces, nephews and their families.
Mrs. Warr was a devout Christian and member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the French Bible Class and sang in the Chancel Choir. She played piano in multiple Sunday school classes with love and dedication. She served many hours on the volunteer board at University Hospital.
Pallbearers assisting with this celebration include: James Ferguson, Jack Minor, Jr., David Warr, Randy Warr, Barry Hall, and Manny Dalis.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 in the St. Marks United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Broome officiating. Burial will be in the Westover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, at the Elliott Sons Funeral Home Columbia Rd.
The family is very appreciative to all of the healthcare professionals and caregivers who provided assistance and loving care during her lifetime. We would like to personally thank Urgent MD and especially recognize Keishawna Gilyard, Crystal Kemp, Elizabeth Harmon, Linda Houston as well as St. Joseph Hospice for their tremendous support during this time.
