Mrs. Sweeney was a native of Brooklyn, NY and Augusta has been her home for over 60 years. She retired from the civil service at Fort Gordon.
Mrs. Sweeney is preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley Sweeney; and brother Bernard Gold. Survivors include her sons, Rodger Sweeney (Katherine) of Augusta and Herbert Sweeney of Virginia; grandchildren, Delia Wells, Kevin Sweeney and Josh Sweeney; great-grandson, James Kitchin; brother, Sheldon Gold (Philomena).
Graveside services will be at 3pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta, GA.
