Catherine F. Gesford

Born on September 21, 1943 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late James Wesley and Irene Belle Triggs Hite.

Catherine enjoyed listening to old country music, especially Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. She cared for and loved her family dearly and took great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: George W. Gesford Sr. (Jodi) and Darryl R. Gesford (Sue Riley); daughter-in-law, Winnie Hite; son-in-law, Jeff Young; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters: Hazel White and Joyce Ann Horner; two brothers-in-law: John Gesford (Pam) and Marvin Gesford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Gesford; three children: Lee Hite, Rita Young, and Brenda Hanna; two granddaughters: Heather and Brittany Young; one great-granddaughter, Layla Hemingway; and eleven siblings.

Family and friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 2pm until the time of the funeral service at 3pm. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: George Gesford, Darryl Gesford, Jeff Young, Lewie Hite, JD Hite, and Cody Faircloth and Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chris Miller and Jason Neely.
