He was born on August 6, 1952 in Martinsburg, WV to the late Henry B. and Geraldine Maddex, Jr. HB was raised and continued to live in the small town of Shepherdstown, which he dearly loved. He was a brilliant master carpenter. He built and restored many structures throughout the area. HB was a good father and dear friend to many people. He was the type of person that would lend a hand to anyone in need. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his two sons: Byington and John Henry Maddex; three grandchildren Elizabeth, Madison and Matthew Maddex; and his three sisters Barbra Brown, Nancy Cleaver and Rose Altieri.
There will be a memorial service followed by a reception held on Friday September 4, 2015 at 2pm at the New Street United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown WV. All family and friends are welcome to come. A private burial will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery for family only.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to hospice of the Panhandle or a charity of your choice. Thank you.
