Born on June 23, 1944 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late David and Evelyn Hensell.
Joanne was a graduate of Hedgesville High School. She was a dedicated hard worker and enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by her children: Deborah Messick (Rick), Tamera Bass (Curtis), and David Mason (Amy); her brother, Charles Hensell; grandchildren: Richard Messick Jr., Amber Truiett, Matthew Mason, and step-grandchild, Curtis Bass; four great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Hensell.
At her request, there will be no services.
