John Russell Morgan

Born on November 11, 1937, in Lumberport, West Virginia, John grew up in Huntington, West Virginia. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to service and excellence.

John had a distinguished career in the United States Navy, retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer. His service during the Vietnam Conflict exemplified his commitment and dedication to his country.

On March 23, 1957, John married Patricia Morgan, née Tedder.

John's legacy is marked by his dedication to his family and his country. He will be remembered with respect and admiration by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Morgan Morgan of Cleveland, Ohio; his son, John Russell Morgan, Jr. of Hedgesville, West Virginia; and his son-in-law, Anthony Flores of Martinsburg, West Virginia.

John was preceded in death by his parents: Rev. Tillman and Virginia Morgan; step-mother, Russie Morgan; sister, Judy Mateoski; and brother, Rev. Luther Morgan.

Family and friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 12pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 1pm.
