

Kevin Leigh Kerns, 54 of Summit Point, passed away September 3, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center. Born August 27, 1961 in Winchester, Virginia, he was the son of Marshall Eugene Kerns and the late Betty Lou (Carper) Kerns.
He worked as a forklift operator for Universal Forrest Products for 21 years and had previously worked at Elmwood Dairy Farm. Kevin loved the farm and John Deere tractors and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Susan (Barr) Kerns; three grandchildren: Zachary, Ashton, and Laylah; three sons: Ronald Kerns and wife, Melissa, Aaron Kerns, and Ryan Kerns and wife, Megan; two sisters: Marsha Kerns Hardman and Lisa Pressutti; one brother, Jay Kerns; and his dogs, Kateal and Thor. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his dog, Draco.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday September 9 at 11:00 A.M. at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg, WV. Friends will be received on Tuesday evening from 6 – 9 P.M. at the funeral home. The graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, September 10 at 11:00 A.M. in Browns Mill Cemetery, Greencastle, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Kevin’s memory to Hunts For Healing fund to sponsor wounded soldiers returning from military missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and veterans who have successfully completed the Wounded Warrior Program at the Military Advanced Training Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center; allowing them to participate in outdoor programs including, but not limited to, hunter safety, clay target shooting, pheasant, upland and small game hunting, fishing and camping. http://luzfdn.org/
