Born January 6, 1921 in Albermarle County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Otis Batten and Gertrude Linton.
Lucille served in the US Army from 1944-1946 and was stationed in California. She was a Mess Sergeant and managed the mess hall.
She is survived by her children: Judy Heck, Trudy Spring, and Dan Shergy and wife, Sheila; sister, Carolyn Bennett; brother-in-law, Frank Siler; cousin: Jim Shipp and wife, Karen; grandchildren: Richard Campbell and wife, Tammy, Troy Heck and wife, Christy, Todd Heck and wife, Tracy, Christine Campbell, Nicholas Shergy, and Bree Myers; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Mildred Feltner and husband, Jim, Pree Batten, Otis Batten and wife, Claire, Marie Thurston, and Bea Siler; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am at Rosedale Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
