

Michael Lee Rogers, 71, passed away on February 20, 2026, at the Hospice of the Panhandle after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 23, 1954, in Martinsburg, the son of Lawrence Rogers and Wanda Albright.
Mike graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1973. Following graduation, he worked as a meatcutter at various grocery stores (Cressler’s, Apple Valley, Barnhart's). He also worked as a bus driver for Berkeley County Schools.
He married his best friend and middle school sweetheart, Cynthia Rogers, in 1975. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary in September.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Smith (Evan), his son, Justin Rogers (Christy); his granddaughters, Delaney Smith, Sage Smith, and Skylar Rogers; four brothers, Clarence Rogers (Carolyn), Robert Rogers (Debbie), David Stokes (Jenny), and Jeff Stokes (Amber); one sister, Kim Gall; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Herbert Stokes, one sister, Vickie Rogers, and a brother-in-law, Jay Gall.
Mike was a cowboy at heart who loved to ride horses, Team Rope, and raise Texas Longhorn Cattle. He enjoyed sitting on the porch, helping anyone in need, spoiling his granddaughters, and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 26th, from 5pm-9pm at Rosedale Funeral Home, 917 Cemetery Rd, Martinsburg, WV 25404. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27th, at 11 am. Fellowship and meal will follow at Second Baptist Church, 911 N. High Street, Martinsburg, WV 25404
