
Robert Lee Bush, 92, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord at Heartland Nursing Home on December 25, 2013.
Born August 3, 1921 in Burnsville, WV, he was the son of the late Walter Scott Bush and Nora Hardman Bush. He was the last remaining member of his family.
Robert attended Glenville State College in 1939. He worked at Bethlehem Fair Field Shipyard in Baltimore, MD, building Liberty Ships. In 1942, he joined the Navy and was involved in WW II in Guam, Okinawa, and Japan.
Robert married Beulah Waugh on July 1, 1943 and graduated from the WVU College of Engineering in 1949. He retired from Weshinghouse and Bendix Corp.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, America Legion of Martinsburg, Masonic Organizations, Tuscarora Ruritan Club, and a member of Pilgrim Presbyterian Church.
Robert is survived by his wife of 70 years, Beulah Bush; one son, Stephen Bush and wife Julia of Laurel, MD; one grandson, Bradley Bush and wife Patricia of Frederick, MD; one granddaughter, Christine Bush of Cambridge, MD, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Michael Walter Bush, five sisters, and two brothers.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday January 11th at 1:00 at Pilgrim Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pilgrim Presbyterian Church or The American Heart Association.
