Ronnie Purnell

Ronnie Lee Purnell, Sr, 68, of Falling Waters passed away on February 25, 2020. Born February 6, 1952 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Donnie Allen, Sr and Evelyn Weatherholtz Purnell. Ronnie will be sadly missed by his brother, Gary Purnell and his wife, Susan D. Purnell, who was the love of his life for 41 years. He also leaves behind his son Ronnie L. Purnell, Jr and his three daughters, Tina L. Stoddard, Angel D. Purnell, and Chanda N. Keesecker. His grandchildren, Jessica, Mindy, Danyelle, Emily, Ronnie Michael, Joseph, Adaya, Brittlyn, Reddyn, Canyon, Bentley, “adopted grandson” Cyle Dehaven, and many great grandchildren, for whom he loved very much, were also a very large part of his life. Ronnie worked for William A. Hazel, Inc for over a decade in site construction and excavation. He was an avid hunter and shared that overwhelming love with everyone in his life. He was a large presence in any room, with a laugh that will echo in everyone’s mind for the rest of our lives. He had an impeccable way of making everyone feel loved and his advice would always drive our hearts towards the right path. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Open Door Baptist Church in Clearbrook VA with Pastor Dave Hartley officiating. Family and friends are welcomed to bring any pictures to display at the memorial and anyone wishing to share kind memories will be welcomed to do so. Should friends desire, contributions can be made to his surviving wife, Susan D. Purnell, to support the memorial fund.
