As a young boy, Al attended Lakewood School, and then Arlington High School where he was active in many school activities: student government, FFA, drama, and athletics. He went to work for Safeway, managing the Marysville store for nearly 40 years. Al was a member of Crystal Lodge and Marysville Lions Club. In Al's retirement years he enjoyed traveling and time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by wife Delaine (Dee); sons Allen (Theresa) of Everett; Kevin (Nancy) of Palm Desert, CA; granddaughters Erin, Sele and Madison. Al leaves many brothers- and sisters-in-law, and close family friends.
Services to be held at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, in Marysville on Saturday June 11, 2016 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Snohomish County.
