I was very saddened to learn of Gene's passing.  He was a mentor to me early in my career, and always gave great advice although he would usually follow it up with "Well, it's worth about what you paid for it!"  I would have to respectfully disagree, as much of what he taught me I continued to use over my nearly 30 years of practicing orthodontics.   Gene and Norma were so kind to me and my wife, Beth, as we were just starting out.   I remember going out to dinner with Gene and Norma to pay off a wager Gene and I had on the Apple Cup ( WSU and I lost that one), and I recall how Beth and I so enjoyed hearing stories of their life experiences.  Gene was intelligent, funny, and generous with his time and talents.  I will be forever grateful to him for helping me get my career started.   Thank you Gene, and may you rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Gene after I purchased his Lynnwood practice in 1990.  He was a very kind and wise man and I benefited from his years of experience.  He loved his Huskies and golf, but most of all he loved Norma, who he always referred to as "his bride."  I saw him years later after I moved on from the Lynnwood office and he still had an interest in what was new in orthodontics.  He was a humble and very intelligent man.  I would think of him from time to time and I was saddened to find that he recently passed away.  Something told me to look for him online.  Thank you Gene.  You have been an inspiration to me and I never forgot your lessons.

We have all of the family on our minds and send a big bear hug to each of you. 
Gene always had a smile and made me laugh when we would see him around EGCC.  Was a true gentleman.
We will miss him and send love to Norma and the family.

As an Everett Golf & County Club  (EGCC)Member, two years on the EGCC Board of Governors and during Gene’s year as President of EGCC Gene was always positive and humble a true leader. Gene was known to to play first golf group of the morning as he would indicate my golf work is done 11:00AM!! Will miss you Gene.
