Born in Santa Rosa, California in 1956, where his family lived on a dairy farm. He was the youngest of four siblings. He was raised in a strong Jehovah’s Witness home, and he continued his devotion to his faith his entire life. His family moved from California to Eugene, Oregon before moving to Washington in 1966. His love for heavy machinery began as a child, learning to drive a dump truck with his father. Through the years of George growing up, his father taught him work skills that he later developed into his own skills, which made him very gifted when it came to operating heavy equipment. He was tremendously talented in his work; he paved most of I-5 in Washington State, as well as the majority of housing developments across the state. He married his first wife Michell in 1975 and they raised four beautiful children together. He married his second wife Teresa in 1997, he raised her son like his own and they resided in Granite Falls, Washington. He will be remembered by family and friends for his warm and giving nature, his devotion to his family and faith, his intelligence and wit, his ability to tell a story unlike anyone else, help anybody who needed help, and his enormous capacity for laughter.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Teresa Sires, stepson William Russell Sires. His four children, Melissa (Lonnie) Olsen, Chris Compton, Jason (Trisha) Compton, Josh (Angela) Compton. His three grandchildren, Kylie Agarpao, Madison Agarpao, Zachary Olsen and two more grandchildren on the way.
