Muriel Murdock

Muriel "Murt" Murdock, 83, passed away in her sleep on September 23, 2012 at her home in Granite Falls , Washington . She was born and raised in Everett , Washington . After high school she attended General Hospital School of nursing, graduating in 1950. She then joined the Army Nurses Corp In October, 1953, she married her soul mate, Richard "Dick" Murdock and left the Army to help raise his two daughters, Susie and Kari.

She worked for many years at Everett General Hospital , moving on to work the remainder of her nursing career with Dr.Paul Marquis. Murt was the life of the party, always having a warm smile and laughter to share with her many friends. She loved telling jokes and had the perfect saying for every situation. She and her husband, Dick enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards and just being with each other and their family. Their marriage lasted over 50 years until Dicks passing. Murt had a good life and a great marriage.

Murt was preceded in death by her parents, Casey and Gladys Anderson; husband, Dick Murdock; daughter, Kari Acton and sister-in-law, "Sis" Hogle.

Murt leaves daughter Susie (Bill) Lebar; brother Robert Anderson and son-in-law, Jerry Acton; Four Grandchildren, Kelli (Larry) Loth; Kevin Womack (Rhonda Nobach); Kayleen (Jammie) Hamilton and Jeff Lebar. Eight Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Connor, Kendall, Hailey, Marissa, Kady, Britnee, Kelsi. Two Nieces, Judy Buchan and Linda Pirnke.

There are many people who have touched Grams' heart in many ways throughout the years and I would like to say thank you! Special thank you's to Tracy and Heather from Home & About; Gencare and their staff in Granite Falls . And thanks to, Sylvia, MaryJayne, Brenda and to Hospice for their caring assistance.

There will be a public viewing October 1st from 10:00 to 12:30pm with services to follow at 1pm at Schaefer-Shipmen Funeral home. Graveside services will be immediately following and will take place at Marysville Cemetery .
