Ellen Roberta Stewart

Maysville - It is of great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and GiGi, Mrs. Ellen Roberta “Bert” Stewart who departed this life at the age of 80 and joined our Heavenly Father, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Meadowview Regional Hospital. She was born in Maysville, Kentucky, where she spent her life, on June 8, 1935 the daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel Crowell Berry. She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years and was also involved with the RSVP. Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, James “Poppa” Edward Stewart, her daughter, Jocelynn Brookins-Davis (Kenneth) of Chambersburg, PA; grandson, Tyson Breeon Davis and great grandson, Braylen Kenneth Davis of Owings Mills, Maryland and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Matilda “Toots” Watseka Whyte. Funeral services for Ellen Roberta Stewart will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church at 12:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 with Rev. Terrance Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service. The arrangements are entrusted with the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
