Gerald Hickerson Sr.

Gerald Hickerson, Sr., 77, of Maysville, Kentucky died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the UC Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the widower of Shirley Ann Hickerson who died April 6, 2014. Mr. Hickerson was engaged in farming and also worked for the Ledger Independent. He served in the US Army Reserves and was a graduate of the May’s Lick High School and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Union Church. Gerald was born in May’s Lick, Kentucky on August 18, 1939 the son of the late Ollie Fant Hickerson and Marguerite Conrad Hickerson. He is survived by his son, Gerald Hickerson, Jr. (Bonnie) of Maysville, KY; his daughter, Cindy Knox (Dave) of Cold Spring, KY; his grandchildren, Darren Hickerson (Lauren), Lincoln Knox and Mylee Knox; his great grandchild, Wyatt Hickerson; his sisters, Norma Jean Erny (Bob) of Wilmore, KY and Nina Pearl Waizenhofer (Frank) of Frankfort, KY. Besides his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Earl Hickerson, his brother Charles Hickerson and his sister, Sue Carol Hickerson. Funeral services for Gerald Hickerson will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2017 with Pastor Dale Bare officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service.
