

He was born March 27, 1946, in Maysville. He was the son of the late Hattie Wormley Gore Dunlap and the late Wilbert Dunlap and the late Austin Richard Gore Sr. He was a member of Scott United Methodist Church.
Jerry held two Master's degrees from Morehead State University. He retired from MSU after 27 years in administration. He was the co-founder and CEO of Freedom Time Tours and conducted hundreds of tours on the Underground Railroad with Freedom Time Tours President Peggy Overly. He was nationally known for his tours and storytelling. He was famous for teaching children how to "ham bone." Jerry was loved by all and loved all.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three sisters, Nancy Dudley of Cincinnati, Wilma Johnson of Louisville and Alice Dunlap of Maysville; four brothers, Austin Gore Jr. and Ralph Dunlap of Maysville, David Dunlap of Rancho Cordona, Calif., and Wilber Dunlap of Hutto, Texas; a special friend, Peggy Overly; and two "grandchildren," Quiera and Antonio Chambers. He also leaves nieces, nephews, cousins and thousands of friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Gore Yett and Florence Dunlap.
Services will be Monday, Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Maysville Community and Technical College Fields Auditorium.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium.
