John R. Hines Jr.

John R. Hines, Jr., 76 died June 2, 2011 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Facility. He was born February 23, 1935 in Independence, MO, the son of the late John R. and Bessie Hines. Mr. Hines was a resident of East Second Street , a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy retiring as Chief Petty Officer after 23 years of service. He was the assistant manager of Heck’s Department Store and later the manager of the Clyde’s Super Value in Aberdeen. Mr. Hines is survived by his wife Carol E. Adams Hines, three sons Wendell Hines of Maysville, Gary Hines and Gregory Hines both of Aberdeen, one daughter Michele Mason of Russellville, OH, three step-children Ronny (Jill) Bay of Maysville, Cathy Irwin of Maysville, and Donnie (Sunny)Bay of Morehead, one brother Fletcher Hinds of Kansas City, Mo, two sisters Betty Overmeyer of Fairplay, MO, Gayle KourIk of Pacific, MO. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Wendy Wright, Ellery Hines, PFC Matthew Moran, Caitlin Moran, Cameron Moran, Marissa Moran, Christian Moran and four step grandchildren Jeremy and Zachary Bay, and Cora and Josh Irwin. Preceding Mr. Hines in death was his first wife Vivian Eaches Hines who died in 2002 and one step-son John Bay. Services for John R. Hines, Jr. will be Monday, June 6 at 10 A.M. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Cushing presiding. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories.
