Joyce Jones Berry

Joyce J. Berry, 73, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at her residence. She was the wife of Robert Berry. She was a cosmetologist and formerly worked for the City of Maysville as bus driver and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Maysville.

Mrs. Berry was born in Germantown, Kentucky on November 26, 1941, the daughter of the late Robert Commodore and Anna Margret Jones. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Maysville.

Besides her husband, survivors include her two children, Echo Jones and LaTressa Graham (Ashley) of Maysville, KY; six grandchildren, Shayla Jones, Shariece Jones, Cody Baber, Whitney Commodore, Aliciona Strothers, Joseph Tull; four great-grandchildren, Ashaylin Rascoe, Ashayne Jones, Jushod and Keyshe Commodore; sisters and brothers, Bonnie Slater, Marvin Jones, Gregory Jones (Stephanie) and Robert Commodore (Teresa) all of Maysville, KY; Mae Lail (Melvin) of Bracken County, KY; Patsy Wallace, Marilyn Durham (John) of Columbus, OH; Danny Commodore of Lexington, KY; Vickie Shoulders (Michael) of Louisville, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin Jones, James Jones, Shirley Commodore Sr., John Harvey Commodore and one sister Jackie Jones.

Funeral services for Joyce J. Berry will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 10, 2015 with Pastor Greg Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Davis, Michael Davis, Todd Gordon Jr., Rodney Baber, Corey Parker, Fredrick Pace, Thomas Cunningham and Charles Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jean Black, Phyllis Alexander, Rose (Shug) DeJanette, Nadra King, Francis Commodore, Faye Williams, Candy Alexander, Opal Greene, Barbara Alexander and Dolores Myrick. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service. The arrangements are entrusted to the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
