On Monday, December 6, 2021, Archie Andrew Hendricks, Jr., completed his journey and was reunited in Heaven with his parents, Fairrice "Wassie" and Archie Hendricks, Sr., along with his nephew, Jamy Woodie.
Andy was born in Atlanta, GA in 1956 and would remain a truly innocent soul for all of his days. He was an extremely proud graduate of Cedar Grove High School and loved going to work each day with his sister, Debbie, at Archie's Sporting Goods. Andy loved all sports and was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks and his favorite, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets!
~Sports is about overcoming odds, applying your talents to a greater goal and being part of and contributing to a team~
Andy's "team" was his family consisting of his sister Debbie (Terry) Woodie, his niece Kim Woodie and nephews Chad (Tamara) Woodie and Scott Woodie. He would pray for each by name every evening. His prayer list didn't stop there but would go on to include his great nieces and nephews Gavin, Madison, Mason, Ashton, Kerrigan and his dozens of cousins and extended family.
When you met Andy, you were certainly greeted with his smile, a hug, a compliment or any combination of the three. Friends are invited to share their memories with Andy's family on Sunday, December 12th, from noon until 2:00 pm at Haisten Funerals and Cremations in McDonough, GA. A Celebration of Andy's life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm.
