Mrs. Barbara Ann Godfrey Bowen, age 78, of Stockbridge, GA passed away April 11, 2015. Barbara was born in Athens, GA the daughter of the late Clara Myrtle Anderson Godfrey and Ezra Godfrey. She was also preceded in death by 9 siblings; and a son, Kenneth Slaughter. Barbara enjoyed spending time with family and friends; she was a loving Christian woman who enjoyed reading and studying her Bible, flowers, fishing and her dog “Amy”. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William O. Bowen of Stockbridge; children, Terrie Maloof of Loganville and Donnie Slaughter of CA; step children, Corwin Bowen (Sheila) of IL, Gwen Wilkerson (Jerry) of Lay Lake, AL, and Gary Bowen of San Antonio, TX; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Mentzel of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law; Jeannette B. Reagan of Hampton, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 – 6:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten funeral Home with Pastor Dave Riley and Steve Foster officiating.
