Betty Jean Boyd Mann, age 89, of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 9, 2023. She was born September 24, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Harvey and Nollie Gaddis Hester. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Elbert Boyd and Sam Mann and by a daughter, Penny Sanders and a grandson, Jason Holland.
Jean was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Fayetteville. She worked many years in the cafeteria of Riverdale High School. Jean enjoyed travel, fishing, camping, cooking, and time with her family.
Survivors include her brother, Henry Hester of Riverdale; children, Bill (Debbie) Boyd of Newnan, Danny (Renee) Boyd of Fayetteville, Kim (Jim) Holland of Jackson and Stacy Jean (Chris) Stamps of Jackson; grandchildren, Travis (Ginny) Boyd of McDonough, Ryan (Andie) Boyd of Louisville, KY, Ashley (Justin) Yetter of Covington and Shelby (Justin) Gilreath of McDonough; great grandchildren, Savannah (Hunter) Edmondson of McDonough, Cecilia, TJ and Hanna Jean Boyd, all of McDonough, Addie and Teddy Boyd of Louisville, KY, Eli and Anniston Yetter of Covington; great-great grandson, Beau Edmondson of McDonough.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023 - 11:00 am in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at College Park Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Friends may visit the family Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in memory of Jean.
