Charles Marvin Smith

Charles Marvin Smith, age 76, passed away July 23, 2023. He was born December 11, 1946 in Fitzgerald, GA and worked as a lineman and foreman that installed, serviced, and performed emergency repairs on electrical lines.

Charles was an avid reader of both fiction and non fiction and had a great interest in learning. He took pride building multiple houses of his own design himself. He was a storm chaser and enjoyed long rides on his motorcycle. He loved animals, the Waffle House, and was an excellent sketch artist.

Charles was born to the late Edna Earl Smith and father Alver Lee Smith. He was preceded in death by brothers Otis Smith, Jimmie Smith, David Smith and sisters Roxie Lassiter, and Sandra Chaney.

He is survived by his son Christopher Lee Smith (Stephanie), his brother Paul Smith (Debbie) and his granddaughters Sophia and Elle Smith as well as many extended family members.

A memorial service will take place Monday July 31st at 4:00 pm at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough. Family and friends will be received one hour before the service from 3:00 - 4:00 pm.
